My kids are crushing my creativity… again

My kids are crushing my creativity… again

This week I’ve been producing tracks like a wild man.

Thanks to the success of the Mona Lisa Lyric Method, I’ve racked up a backlog of songs I can’t wait to pitch – I just haven’t recorded them yet.

So this week (and next), I’m not starting any new songs.

But putting on my big boy producer pants hasn’t been that easy when my kids keep barging in every 5 mins…

“Dad, I’m hungry.”

“Dad, look at this scribble I just drew.”

“Dad… daad… daaaaaaaaad!”

Putting aside that I love my kids…

These aren’t just interruptions.

Every time they barge in, I lose 30 mins getting back to my pre-interrupted state.

That's not a parenting problem.

That's a method problem.

Because kids or not – relying on my mood or inspiration is a poor man’s strategy for finishing songs.

What’s better is a method modelled on the practices of multiple successful songwriters.

It isn’t thrown if your kids need attention.

And returning to your creative flow is as simple as knowing which step of the method you’re up to.

The result: writing more songs than you can handle recording.

Here’s the method.

Can't stop, addicted to the shindig.
